Alpaca – The animal. The fiber. The soul of Profundo.

At an altitude of over 3,800 meters, in the middle of the majestic Andes, lives an animal that has stood for warmth, dignity and appreciation for thousands of years: the alpaca .

Unlike other farm animals, the alpaca does not harm the soil or nature – it is quiet, light-footed, and undemanding. Its soft fiber is not only exceptionally Not only thermoregulating, hypoallergenic and silky , but also a reflection of his way of life: respectful, sustainable and full of natural elegance .

The fiber of kings

Even in pre-Columbian cultures, alpaca fiber was considered the " fiber of the gods "—then reserved exclusively for the aristocratic elite. Today, it is considered one of the world's most precious natural materials, alongside cashmere and silk .

Profundo uses only select alpaca fibers—especially baby alpaca , known for its fineness and incredible softness. In the future, we will expand our collections to include cashmere, merino wool, silk, and other luxurious natural fibers that are as timeless as they are durable.
